Cancer concerns for women the focus of cancer symposium this year

The 9th annual Upstate Cancer Symposium – to be held 7:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 — focuses on cancer concerns for women. Physicians, nurses, medical students and other health care professionals are invited to attend the free event, in Upstate’s Weiskotten Hall, 766 Irving Ave.

The speakers include:

Dr. Scott P. Albert, MD, assistant professor of surgery at Upstate, on “Are Pre-Malignant Pancreatic Lesions More Common in Women?”

Dr. Rinki Agarwal, MD, clinical assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Upstate, on “Uterine Cancer: Epidemiology and Current Treatment Paradigm.”

Dr. Frederick Sengstacke II, MD, assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Upstate, on “Fertility Preservation in Cancer Patients.”

Dr. John Kane, III, MD, associate professor of oncology and chief of the melanoma/sarcoma service at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, on “Melanoma Update: Progress and Challenges.”

Dr. Deepa Masrani, MD, assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at Upstate, on “What’s New in Breast Imaging?”
