Upstate doctors and other health professionals are participating in Natur-Tyme’s 13th annual health fair, “Collaborative Healthcare in 2013: Pediatrics to Geriatrics.” The event, a collaboration between Upstate University Hospital, Crouse Hospital and Natur-Tyme, takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday April 14 at the New York State Fairgrounds’ Art & Home Center.
Tickets are $6 in advance, at Natur-Tyme or $9 at the door.
Keynote speakers include Upstate’s Donna Bacchi, MD, on simple tools for healthy eating and JC Trussell, MD, on low testosterone and its effect on libido, energy levels, mood, concentration and muscle mass. Also, from Crouse, Scott Treatman, DO, will present a talk on mindfulness and meditation, and Jennifer Barna, MD, will present breast healthcare at any age.
In addition, a panel will field questions from the community. Included on the panel are Kaushal Nanavati, MD, Director of Integrative Medicine at the Upstate Cancer Center; Heather Shannon, Director of Academic Midwifery at Upstate; and Andrew Burgdorf, PhD, a clinical pharmacy specialist in hematology/oncology and an adjunct professor in Upstate’s College of Nursing; Art Vercillo, MD, regional president of CNY Excellus BlueCross BlueShield; an d Les Moore, Director of Integrative Medicine at Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic.
